Nazareth College Athletics

Toxicology major... born 12/5/95... son of Gerald and Mary Connors, Binghamton, N.Y... returning for his fourth season, Connors was a strong contributor for the Golden Flyers in 2016-17 as he set a school record in the 50 freestyle in both yards (:21.47) and meters (:24.62)... also part of school records in the 200 and 400 free relays with times of 1:27.27 and 3:11.47 respectively... finished fifth in the 100 backstroke (:52.32), eighth in the 50 free (:21.47), 10th in the 100 freestyle (:47.54), sixth in the 400 free relay (3:11.47), ninth in the 200 free relay (1:27.27) and eighth in the 400 medley relay (3:32.39) at the UNYSCSCA/Empire 8 Conference meet... also part of school meter records in the 200- and 400-meter medley relays with times of 1:50.36 and 4:04.30.

2015-16: Connors swam well for Nazareth in 2015-16... lowered time in 200 backstroke to 2:00.82 and placed 19th in that event at the UNYSCSA/Empire 8 Conference meet... also swam 13th in the 100 back (:53.51) and 20th in the 50 free (:22.07)... also a member of four school-record relay teams -- the 200 medley relay that swam sixth (1:36.24); the 200 free relay that finished seventh (1:27.57) and the 400 free relay that finished sixth (3:12.70) and the 800 free relay that finished fifth (7:05.16).

2014-15: Connors was the 2014-15 recipient of the team's Golden Flyer Award as Most Improved Swimmer... top events included the 100- and 200-yard backstrokes... placed 10th in the 100 (:53.06) and 20th in the 200 (2:01.57) and the UNYS/Empire 8 Conference meet at the Webster Aquatic Center.

Scholastic: a graduate of Chenango Valley High Schoool, Connors was a member of the swimming and cross country teams... a two-time first-team all-conference selection in the Southern Tier Athletic Conference for swimming and once for cross country... school record-holder in the 100 backstroke and 100 freestyle... won Section Four Class B title in the 100 backstroke in 2013 and helped team to sectional title that year... a five-time Mid-Atlantic Region champion in Irish Dancing... finished in the top three at the North American Irish Dance Championships and top 10 at the World Championships.
