Mathematics and Economics major. . . born 4/23/92... son of Mike and Shelley Sawran, Auburn, N.Y... returning for his fourth season, Sawran was the 2012-13 recipient of the Coaches' Award for hard work, dedication and commitment as well as the Academic Award for having the team's highest GPA for the third year in a row... placed 20th in the 200 IM (4:25.70) and 16th in the 1,650 freestyle (17:23.92) at the UNYSCSA/Empire 8 Conference meet…
2011-12: Sawran was the recipient of the team’s Academic Award, presented to the swimmer with the highest GPA… enjoyed a strong season by posting top times in four events: 500 free (4:56.60), 1,000 free (10:29.15), 1,650 free (17:27.73) and 400 IM (4:25.96)… placed 19th in the 1,650 free and 23rd in the 400 IM at the UNYSCSA/Empire 8 Conference meet…
2010-11: placed 12nd in the 400-yard IM (4:28.25), 13th in the 200-yard butterfly (2:07.46) and 14th in the 1650-yard freestyle (17:47.31)... as a member of the 800-yard freestyle relay, Sawran helped the team to a 10th-place finish (7:21.89) as he swam the opening leg... swam the third leg of the 400-yard freestyle relay that finished 12th (3:19.21)... earned the Academic Award for maintaining the team’s highest GPA...
Scholastic: a graduate of Auburn High School, Sawran was a member of the swim team for four seasons... served as team captain as a senior in 2009-10 and was part of Section Three title winning 400 free relay team... team also placed seventh in the state meet and eighth in the 200 free relay... helped team to Onondaga League titles in 2007 and 2008 and a Section Three championship in '07... recipient of Dean LaDue Memorial Scholarship and NUCOR Scholarship.
