ROCHESTER, NY –
Delaney St. George launched a walkoff homerun in the eighth inning to lift Nazareth 3-2 over Utica College in game one, before the Golden Flyers blanked the Pioneers 2-0 in game two. Nazareth hit four home runs on the day.
The Golden Flyers earned their first conference sweep of the season to end 2016 20-20 overall and 4-10 in league play. Utica, which earned the No. 3 seed for the upcoming Empire 8 tournament, is now 22-16 overall and 9-5, respectively.

Maureen Rogers hit her fifth home run of the season to knot the score at one apiece.
Utica responded with a run of its own in the sixth inning, only to have
Meghan Barry tie the score with a solo shot to left center.
In extra innings, St. George, Nazareth's first batter, ended the game with a home run that went off the scoreboard in left field. It was her third home run of the season.
Nicole White was stellar on the mound, surrendering just five hits in eight innings. She allowed two runs (one earned) to improve to 8-10 on the season.
Rogers finished 2-for-3 in the win.

Nazareth once again used the long ball to win the game as
Stephanie Mongelli went deep in the sixth inning on a two-run shot.
That would be all the run support
Rachel Mertens would need as she increased her scoreless innings mark to 12. She allowed eight hits, while striking out three batters to conclude the season with an 11-9 record on the mound.
Mongelli and Barry each went for two hits in the game.
