ROCHESTER, NY – St. John Fisher College ace Lindsey Thayer tossed two complete scoreless contests to help the host Cardinals drop visiting Nazareth. The Golden Flyers managed just six hits against Thayer on the day, who improved to 17-1 on the mound.
Nazareth falls to 13-15 overall and 1-7 in Empire 8 play, while Fisher improves to 27-5 and 7-1, respectively

Nazareth managed just two hits in the opening game, one apiece from
Maureen Rogers and
Stephanie Mongelli.
The lone run of the game came in the third inning on an RBI single from Kristina Balsano.

Nicole White had a solid outing on the mound, giving up just six hits to the Cardinals. She struck out four batters in the game.
In the fourth inning, St. John Fisher had a runner in scoring position with one out, however, White induced to consecutive groundouts to get out of the inning.
Game 2: St. John Fisher 2, Nazareth 0
The Cardinals scored one run in both the second and fifth innings, which would be all Thayer would need to earn her second win.
Nazareth left two runners on in the fourth inning. In both the fifth and seventh innings, Nazareth loaded the bases with two outs but could not push any runners across.

Madison Zeis registered the hits for the Golden Flyers.
Mertens (7-7) surrendered two runs on eight hits, while striking out one.
Nazareth returns to action on Thursday when it will travel to Alfred State for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
