ROCHESTER, N.Y- Nazareth won its second game of the weekend Sunday with a 2-0 victory over Allegheny College at Golden Flyer Stadium.
With the win, the Golden Flyers improve to 2-0-1 on the year, while Allegheny falls to 0-3.
Nazareth didn't take long to get on the board as
Briana Vibbard launched a shot inside the box and
Laura Herman knocked in the rebound to give the Golden Flyers the lead in the 8
th minute.
The score remained 1-0 at the break.Â
Herman was at it again in the second half with a streaking run down the left side before pushing a shot just wide in the opening moments.
The hosts were able to open up their lead in the 70
th minute off a corner kick. Â Herman was credited with the assist after her initial shot was put back into play, allowing
Jessica Byrnes to drive a low shot into the goal.
Mackenzie Dunphy earned the win in net after making two saves in the first half.Â
Allison Dobles entered in the second half, making four saves.
Nazareth returns to action on Thursday when it will host SUNY Geneseo at 5 p.m.
