ECAC results
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Senior sprinter
Hannah Brackley and junior thrower
Luis Rivera will represent Nazareth at next week's NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y. Brackley will compete in the 400-meter dash after qualifying with a school-record time of :56.09 at the NYSCTC meet also at St. Lawrence earlier this month. Rivera will compete in the hammer throw after qualifying with a throw of 187 feet, 11 inches also at St. Lawrence.
Several other Nazareth athletes fell short of qualifying after completing their season at the ECAC Championships at Springfield earlier this week. Junior
Tom Sippie finished third in the men's 400-meter dash with a time of :48.34. Freshman
Nick LaBarbera also competed in the 400 and finished eighth in :49.05. Sophomore
Matt Battaglia finished 17th in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.30.
In the women's meet, senior
Michaela Gildemeyer was eighth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:15.84. Freshman
Samantha Goble was 22nd in the same race with a time of 2:19.86. Junior
Taylor Pierson, who qualified the past two springs, fell short in the long jump despite a fifth-place finish at the ECACs with a jump of 17 feet, 11 3.4 inches.
Freshman
Emily Soeder was 14th in the high jump as she cleared 5 feet, 1 inch and Brackley was 16th in the 200-meter dash with a time of :25.98.
