Cross-over siteONEONTA, N.Y. -- Nazareth defeated Empire 8 Conference rival Hartwick Saturday in three sets in a women's volleyball match that took more than four hours to complete due to a power outage. Nazareth won by scores of 25-19, 25-19, 25-23 to improve to 13-3 overall and 1-0 in conference matches. Nazareth was scheduled to play Stevens also Saturday, but that match was postponed with no makeup date set.
"Someone apparently hit a utility poll and knocked out power on most of the Hartwick campus," said Nazareth Coach
Cal Wickens. As a result, the match that started at 10 a.m. had to be moved to Oneonta Middle School, where it was completed sometime after 2 p.m.

Kassandra Buseck had nine kills and junior
Maria Allocco had eight. Freshman
Madi Wickens had 32 assists and freshman
Maureen Thayer had 14 digs.
Hannah Strom and Dana Martin each finished with seven kills to lead Hartwick. Quincy Kinzel had 21 assists, and Christina Vitale recorded 13 digs.
Nazareth plays another conference match Wednesday at Utica at 7 p.m.
