SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Nazareth won two more women's volleyball matches Friday at the Union Tournament. The Golden Flyers went four sets each with Skidmore and Oneonta and came away as winners. Nazareth overcame an early deficit to rally past Skidmore Scores were 18-25, 30-28, 25-18, 25-21. Nazareth then defeated Oneonta by scores of 25-19, 25-18, 20-25, 25-18. Nazareth is 9-2 overall.
Against Skidmore, four Nazareth players produced double-digit kill totals, led by junior
Maria Allocco, who had 14 kills against just one hitting error in 22 attempts for a .591 hitting percentage. Freshman

Chelsea Beecher each had 13 kills and junior
Kassandra Buseck had 10. Freshman
Maureen Thayer amassed 40 assists with 14 digs and freshman
Madi Wickens had 22 digs with 10 assists.
Nazareth hit .284 as a team (62-16-162) and also got 14 digs from Messmer and 11 from Beecher.
The second set proved decisive as Nazareth broke a 28-28 tie on a solo block by Messmer and a kill from Buseck, who had six of her kills in the set. Allocco then added five kills in the third set and five more in the fourth.
Against Oneonta, Beecher, Buseck and Messmer each had 13 kills as Nazareth gained control early. Wickens had 42 assists and Thayer contributed 21 digs.
