ELMIRA, N.Y. -- Stevens defeated Nazareth in a key Empire 8 Conference match for women's volleyball Thursday as the Ducks emerged for a four-set victory. Scores were 27-25, 18-25, 25-15, 25-19.

Stevens remained unbeaten in Empire 8 matches at 3-0 and improved to 16-4 overall. Nazareth is 2-1 in E8 matches and 14-4 overall. The Golden Flyers host Ithaca Friday at 6 p.m. and then host Buffalo State and Plattsbugh Saturday.

Three Nazareth players posted double digit kill totals, led by junior Kassandra Buseck, who had 13 kills in 27 attempts for a .370 hitting percentage. Juniors Olivia Harrigan and Maria Allocco each had 10 kills. Harrigan also had 14 digs and freshman Madi Wickens totaled 38 assists.

Samantha Gates had 42 assists for the Ducks and Mary Caulson had 12 kills. The Ducks also shined defensively by amassing 96 digs. Katie Shelton had 25 and Kirsten Salmins 22.
