Ann Sessler, members of the Nazareth women's lacrosse team, have been honored as Empire 8 Conference Player and Goalie of the Week respectively.
Cook, an attacker from Waterloo, N.Y. and a graduate of Waterloo High School, contributed one goal and four assists Saturday as Nazareth handed Ithaca its first E8 defeat of the season, 12-11. Cook added three goals in Sunday's 21-7 romp over Elmira. Her third goal against Elmira gave her an even 100 for her career.
Cook leads the Golden Flyers in scoring for 2010 with 51 points on 32 goals, 19 assists. She ranked eighth on Nazareth's all-time scoring list with 145 points.
Sessler, of Cazenovia, N.Y. and a graduate of Cazenovia High School, had 13 saves in the victory over Ithac and four more against Elmira to raise her season total with 141. Her .530 save percentage ranks first among Empire 8 goalies.
Nazareth completed its regular-season schedule with an overall record of 10-5, incuding a 6-2 mark in the Empire 8. The Golden Flyers will be the fourth seed for the Empire 8 Tournament May 8-9 at Ithaca. Nazareth will play Ithaca May 8 at 12 p.m.
