SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Nazareth's 400 medley relay team moved up to ninth place Friday with a time of 3:35.18 to complete the first day of competition at the Upper New York State Collegiate Swimming Association championships at Nottingham High School. Nazareth was in 13th place in the overall team standings with 85.50 points.

Seniors #R.C. Weston and Rob Wortel swam the relay for Nazareth along with freshmen Mike Bidwell and Jacob Kline#. Kline also finished in 14th place in the 200 IM with a finals time of 1:59.47.

Wortel finished 23rd in the 50 freestyle with a finals time of :22.39. In addition, Nazareth's 200 free relay team of Bidwell, Eric Lenhardt, #Paul Thompson and Dan Walton# swam 12th in 1:31.79.

Union stood in first place with 369 points, followed by Stevens with 365 and Ithaca with 332.

Swimming resumes Saturday.
