ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Nazareth's women's lacrosse team has been picked to finish in fifth place in the Empire 8 Conference standings for 2010, based on a poll of the league's head coaches.

Nazareth finished 9-8 overall in 2009 ad finished third in the regular-season E8 standings. The Golden Flyers have won four conference titles and made six NCAA Tournament appearances since 2000. Under the direction of second-year coach Traci Lian, Nazareth opens its 2010 season March 6 at William Smith at 2 p.m. The Golden Flyers have 14 players returning, including their top two scorers in junior Michelle Cook (41 goals, 21 assists) and senior Nora Davis (48 goals, four assists).

In the E8 coaches' poll, St. John Fisher was picked first by a narrow margin over Stevens. Ithaca was third and RIT fourth.
