ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Freshman
Jacob Kline is seeded second in the 100-yard butterfly as Nazareth prepares to compete in next week's Upper New York State Collegiate Swimming Association championship meet for men's swimming and diving. The meet will run Feb. 26-28 at Nottingham High School in Syracuse.
Kline has the second fastest 100 butterfly time this season with a clocking of :52.88 recorded at RIT's Don Richards Invitational in December. He trails only RIT's Jeff Kaemmerlen, who is seeded first at :52.09. Kline also is seeded 10th in the 100 freestyle (:48.52) and 12th in both the 200 IM (2:04.83) and the 50 freestyle (:22.12).
Nazareth's 200 medley relay team also is seeded second after winning that event at the Don Richards Invitational with a time of 1:38.91. That foursome features seniors #R.C. Weston
and Rob Wortel
in addition to freshmen Kline and Mike Bidwell#. The same foursome is seeded seventh in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:39.27.
Nazareth 400 freestyle relay team is ranked seventh with a time of 3:16.86. Weston, Kline, Wortel and sophomore
