Biography
Psychology major... born 5/31/94... daughter of Shawn and Patricia Pierson, Wellsburg, N.Y... returning for her third track and field season, Pierson competed for the Golden Flyers during the 2015 indoor season and qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships in the long jump for the third year in a row with a season-best jump of 5.56 meters (18 feet, 3 inches) at the Brockport Mid-Season Classic on 2/7/15... finished 15th at the national meet in Winston-Salem, N.C... finished second at the NYSCTC meet at RIT on 2.28/15 with a jump of 5.41 meters (17 feet, 9 inches).
2014: Pierson continued to excel for the Golden Flyers as she represented Nazareth at the NCAA Outdoor Championships and finished 16th in the long jump... had a season-best jump of 5.71 meters (18 feet, 9 inches) to win the long jump at Nazareth's ROC City Invitational on 4/12/14... also jumped 5.70 meters (18 feet, 8 1/2 inches) to finish fifth at the ECAC meet at Rensselaer... finished third at the Empire 8 Conference meet (17 feet, 10 1/4 inches) and fourth at the NYSCTC meet (18 feet, 1 1/2 inches)... equaled a school record in the 100-meter dash with a time of :12.67 to finish third at the E8 Conference meet at St. John Fisher on 4/19/14... part of the 4 x 100-meter relay that set a school record of :49.60 to win that race at the Nazareth ROC City invitational on 4/12/14...earned All-American honors during the indoor season after placing fifth in the long jump at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Nebraska with a jump of 5.55 meters (18 feet, 2 1/2 inches)... set a school record earlier in the season with a jump of 5.73 meters (18 feet, 9 3/4 inches) at the RIT Invitational on 2/21/14... finished first in the long jump at the NYSCTC meet at St. Lawrence with a jump of 5.54 meters (18 feet, 2 1/4 inches)... also set a school record with a seventh-place finish in the 60-meter dash (8.13) at the NYSCTC meet.
2013: Pierson enjoyed an honor-laden year for the Golden Flyers as she became the Golden Flyers' first-ever female track and field All-American by placing eighth in the long jump at the NCAA Outdoor Championships at Wisconsin-LaCrosse on 5/23/13... leaped to a school record of 5.73 meters (18 feet, 9 3/4 inches)... also won Empire 8 and NYSCTC titles in the long jump... named NYSCTC Rookie of the Meet and E8 Field Athlete of the Meet, Field Athlete of the Year and Rookie of the Year... earned second-team E8 honors as part of the 4 x 100-meter relay that set a school record with a time of :49.65... also excelled during the indoor season as she became Nazareth's first-ever NCAA female track qualifier and placed 10th in the long jump at the national meet at North Central College in Naperville, Ill... qualified for the national meet in the long jump (18 feet, 1 inch) by winning that event at the ECAC Championship in New York City on 3/1/13... also won Empire 8 and NYSCTC titles... also set school records in the 60-meter dash (8.23) and the 200-meter dash (:26.76)... also part of school records in the 4 x 400-meter relay (4:08.70) and the 4 x 200-meter relay (1:47.54)... named Empire 8 Rookie of the Year.
Scholastic: a graduate of Southside High in Elmira, Pierson competed in volleyball and track and field... earned Elmira Female Athlete of the Year honors in 2012... earned Rich Bernstein Field MVP award at Ithaca Relays and MVP at Binghamton Spring Break Invitational... member of National Honor Society.
