Biography

Physical Therapy major...born 2/26/92... daughter of Tom and Grace Sauter, Carthage, N.Y... returning for her fourth season, Sauter continued to excel as one of the Golden Flyers' top swimmers in 2012-13... lowered her times in the 50- and 100-yard freestyles to :24.32 and :52.77 respectively... also posted a career-best times in the 50- (:28.91) and 100-yard backstroke (:58.77)... finished fourth in the 100 free, sixth in the 100 back and ninth in the 50 free at the UNYSCSA/Empire 8 Conference Championships at Ithaca... also swam as part of the 200 medley relay that finished third (1:48.69); the 400 medley relay that finished third (3:56.56) and the 400 free relay that finished fourth (3:36.45)...

2011-12: Sauter was a strong contributor for the Golden Flyers as she qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship meet in Indianapolis in the 200- and 400-yard medley relays… 400 relay placed 10th in school-record time of 3:51.73… 200 relay finished 16th in 1:47.67, a few ticks off its school-record time of 1:46.39 set at the UNYSCSA/Empire 8 Conference meet… finished sixth in the 100 free, ninth in the 50 free and 10th in the 100 back at the UNYSCSA/Empire 8 Conference meet…

2010-11: enjoyed a strong freshman season for the Golden Flyers... competed as a backstroker and as a freestyler and was part of two record-breaking relays: the 400-yard free relay (3:34.74) and the 200-yard medley relay (1:47.99)... recipient of Golden Flyer Award as Most Improved Swimmer... finished eighth in the 50 free, seventh in the 100 free and ninth in the 100 backstroke at the UNYSCSA/Empire 8 Conference meet...

Scholastic: a graduate Carthage Central, Sauter competed in swimming, basketball and lacrosse there... was a four-time Frontier League all-star in swimming and a two-time state meet qualifier... named Carthage Female Athlete of the Year for 2010 and recipient of Section Three Scholar-Athlete award... helped team to three league titles and two Section Three Class B championships... named Carthage Elks Student of the Year and recipient of NYS Elks Scholarship and Carthage Area Hospital Foundation Scholarship.
