Biography

Business Administration major. . . born 8/6/91... son of John and Randi McCormick, Rochester, N.Y... back for his fourth season, McCormick was among the top singles players in the area in 2011-12 as he posted an overall record of 18-4 and earned first-team Empire 8 Conference all-star honors for the third year in a row… finished 6-1 in E8 matches, with his lone defeat coming to Stevens’ Chris Rosensteel in a wild three-setter 6-4, 6-7 (7-9), 11-9… teamed with Bret Beaver to earned second-team all-conference honors in doubles after posting an overall record of 10-13… also served as Nazareth’s representative as E8 Sportsman of the Year…


2010-11: received first-team Empire 8 Conference all-star honors in singles and second-team all-conference accolades in doubles... playing first singles, McCormick posted a 9-8 record, including a 6-2 mark against Empire 8 opponents... in his doubles matches, McCormick finished 7-10 at first doubles with teammate Bret Beaver, including a 5-3 record in Empire 8 competition... McCormick was also Nazareth’s representative as E8 Sportsman of the Year…

2009-10: McCormick had a strong freshman season and earned first-team Empire 8 Conference all-star honors... finished the season with a 13-10 overall singles record, including an 11-8 mark at first singles and a 6-2 record against Empire 8 opponents... finished the season with a four-match win streak... McCormick and teammate Josh Mulligan finished with a 4-13 record at first doubles...

Scholastic: a graduate of Irondequoit High School, McCormick was a member of the varsity tennis team for five seasons... played first singles and participated in the state tournament during three of his seasons... won over 100 matches in his high school career and was a Section Five Class A singles champion and a two-time doubles champion... earned all-Greater Rochester honors during three seasons and was named the Division Two MVP during each of his five seasons on the varsity team... also received the Section Five Sportsmanship Award... a member of National Honor Society and the Dean Officers Club.
