History major. . . born 11/08/88. . . daughter of Jack and Darleen Van Slyke, New Hartford, N.Y. . . returning for her fourth season, Van Slyke claimed a one-shot victory in the inaugural Empire 8 Conference Championship Tournament and led Nazareth to the team title. . . Van Slyke had an average score of 83.82 in 17 rounds of golf and recorded three additional first-place finishes during the 2009-10 season. . . placed first at the William Smith Invitational with a one-round score of 86, finished first at the Nazareth Invitational with a two-round score of 163, and placed first with a two-round score of 163 at the Gettysburg Spring Invitational. . . posted a season-best score of 78 in the second round of the Gettysburg Invitational. . .
2008-09: Van Slyke competed in eight tournaments (13 rounds) and finished with an average score of 88.46. . . placed first at the Elmira Spring Invitational with a one-round score of 80. . . also finished tied for 12th at the Nazareth Fall Shoot-out, tied for 16th at the St.Lawrence Invitational, and tied for 17th at Vassar College Invitational. . .
2007-08: Van Slyke had a strong first season for the Golden Flyers as she finished with the lowest scoring average at 88.26 for 19 rounds. . . top performances included a tie for fifth place at the Cortland Tournament and a tie for 10th place at the Wellesley Invitational thanks to a season-best 82 in the second round. . .
Scholastic: a graduate of New Hartford High School, Van Slyke was co-captain of the golf team for two seasons. . . placed first individually in the Tri-Valley League, fifth in the Section Three Tournament and 13th in the state tournament. . . also competed in ice hockey.
