ROCHESTER, NY – Visiting Ithaca scored twice in the final seven minutes to earn a come-from-behind victory, 2-1, over Nazareth Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.
With the loss, Nazareth drops to 1-5, while Ithaca improves to 4-2.
Emily Prescott netted her first goal of the season two minutes before halftime off a penalty corner.
Leah Good centered a pass off the initial corner and Prescott hammered in the shot on the back post for the 1-0 lead, a lead the Golden Flyers would carry into halftime.
Early in the second half, Nazareth's Lydia DeWart came up with a big defensive save to keep the Bombers off the board.
Ithaca, who finished the game with a 22-8 edge in shots and 12-3 margin in penalty corners broke through at the 62:44 mark. Maria McGloin tapped in a shot from in close off an assist from Maya Rodgers.
McGloin wasted little time find the net again, scoring the eventual game-winning goal 1:17 later. She took an initial shot that was saved, before putting in the rebound.
Kimber Nourse made 15 saves in net for Nazareth.
The Golden Flyers return to action on Wednesday, traveling to Skidmore College for a 4:30 p.m. matchup.
