Sarneckis Leads Men's Volleyball Past Keuka In Three Sets

ROCHESTER, NY – Senior Robert Sarneckis put down a career-high 10 kills as Nazareth made quick work of Keuka College Thursday night, downing the Wolves 25-20, 25-14, 25-22.  Nazareth honored its two seniors for senior night in Sarneckis and Tom Keisling before the match.

Nazareth improves to 19-12 with the win, while Keuka drops to 8-15. 

Nazareth led by as many as six points in the first set at 18-12.  The Wolves were able to trim the lead to 20-17, however, Nazareth pulled away late.  Keisling had the final two kills of the set.  The trio of Sarneckis, Keisling and  Zachary Gillard each had five kills in the opening set.   

The Golden Flyers cruised to taking the second set, finishing with 13 kills on 24 attempts with three errors (.417). 

In the third set, Keuka kept in tight late in the match, coming as close as 22-21.  The Golden Flyers hit .500 (13 kills, 2 errors, 22 attempts) capped by a Sam Bittker kill for the match.  He had eight kills on 11 attempts (.636).

Keisling led the way with seven digs, to go along with five kills on a .385 attack percentage.

Gillard notched seven kills and Sean Dillon five.

Jake Kemp dished out 23 assists. 

Nazareth closes out its regular season on Saturday at Elmira.  The Golden Flyers take on the Soaring Eagles at 10 a.m., followed by SUNY Poly at 12 p.m.
