BUFFALO, NY – Nazareth made a clean sweep of Medaille Tuesday night, downing the Mavericks 25-20, 25-13, 25-15 for its second straight win. The Golden Flyers have now won six of their last eight contests to improve to 18-10.
Nazareth, which has already qualified for the UVC Tournament April 13-15, closes out conference play this weekend in Hoboken, NJ with matches against Stevens and New Paltz. Nazareth takes on Stevens at 11 a.m. and New Paltz at 1:30 p.m on Saturday.
Zachary Gillard had a balanced game for the Golden Flyers, going for eight kills, six digs and four blocks.
Ethan Ross put down a career-high eight blocks, to go along with five kills on a .444 attack percentage.
Nazareth hit .263 in the match (34 kills, 14 errors, 76 attempts), including an impressive .545 in the dominant third set (15 kills, three errors, 22 attempts).
Tom Keisling was credited with five kills (.714) and seven digs.
Jake Kemp dished out 27 assists in the win.
Gillard and
Trevor Gooch each had four service aces for the Golden Flyers.
