Zachary Gillard registered a career-high 21 kills Saturday night, helping Nazareth sweep Wittenberg 25-22, 25-20, 25-20 in non-conference action. He hit .436 on the day with four errors on 39 attempts.
Nazareth improves to 13-8 on the season. Wittenberg drops to 4-12.
The Golden Flyers put together their strongest set in the second, finishing with 16 kills on 35 attempts with just three errors (.371).
In the final set, the Tigers led 15-12 before Nazareth rattled of five-of-six points to secure a 17-16 advantage.
Sean Dillon started the run with a kill and the other four points came on errors from Wittenberg.
With the score tied at 17, Nazareth scored the next three points and cruised to the straight-set win.
Robert Sarneckis notched five kills on six attempts (.833) in the victory.
Tom Keisling had 15 digs and
Tyler Farnung dished out 21 assists.
Nazareth returns to the court next Saturday at Ramapo College taking on Medgar Evers at 12 pm and Ramapo at 2 pm.
