Rochester, NY – Nazareth finished out the RIT Invitational on Saturday with a split, falling in four sets to Brockport (25-21, 14-25, 23-25, 11-25), before taking down Geneseo in four sets (25-21, 25-23, 21-25, 25-20).
Nazareth is now 15-9 on the season.
In the opening match, Nazareth finished with a .210 attack percentage, being edged out by Brockport's .289.
Madison Joseph had 12 of Nazareth's 38 kills in the match on a .212 attack percentage.
Melissa Newcomb nearly hit .300 with 12 kills on 33 attempts, to go along with five errors.
Delaney Martin chipped in seven kills (.273), while
Kelsey Milligan had six kills (.313).
Savannah Bothner had 14 digs to lead Nazareth.
In the second match, Nazareth opened by winning the first two sets, despite hitting .068 in the second (11 kills, 8 errors, 44 attempts).
Following a third set loss, Nazareth put together its best offense of the match, with 15 kills on 43 attempts and just three errors.
Joseph once against had 12 kills, while Milligan and Newcomb each had 10 apiece.
After dishing out 29 assists against Brockport,
Jessica Barry had 22 against Geneseo.
Bothner paved the way with 22 digs, while
Danielle Synowski chipped in 16.
Nazareth returns to action on Wednesday, when it travels to Houghton College for a 7 p.m. Empire 8 matchup.
