ROCHESTER, NY – The Nazareth College field hockey squad hit the road for the first time this season, falling 1-0 to Oswego State Saturday night.
Nazareth falls to 0-2 on the season with the loss, while Oswego improves to 2-0.
It was a defensive battle throughout the game with Oswego holding a 14-9 advantage in shots. The Lakers generated 13 penalty corners compared to three for Nazareth.
Oswego scored the only goal of the game at the 25:36 mark of the first half. Kendra Walker scored an unassisted goal by breaking through the Golden Flyers defense and putting it home.
Freshman
Jennifer Hilts registered a game-high six shots.
Kimber Nourse went the distance in net, making four saves in net.
Nazareth returns to action Wednesday when it will host Wells College at 6 p.m.
