Box | Updated stats
ROCHESTER, NY – Playing its second game in as many days, the Nazareth men's soccer team came out on the losing end on Saturday, falling 3-0 to Buffalo State College.

Nazareth split the weekend after defeating Morrisville State 1-0 on Friday, now sitting with a 1-1 record.  The Bengals hold an identical record after falling to RIT 1-0 yesterday.

Buffalo State outshot Nazareth 12-6 in the first half. In the 18th minute, Golden Flyers goalkeeper Brian Wilkin came out to cut down the angle on a shot to keep the score at 0-0.

Later, in the 20th minute, Wilkin made another stellar save, pushing aside a shot from 25-yards that was destined for the far post.

The Bengals broke through in the 28th minute on a service and header that beat the charging out Wilkin to make it 1-0.

Nazareth generated its best chance of the half shortly after when a corner kick by Alessio DeMichele was re-directed off a header form Dylan Toscano wide of the far post.

Wilkin came up huge for the Golden Flyers late in the first half, stopping a penalty kick.  The freshman netminder made a diving save on the initial shot before swatting the rebound out of bounds.

The Bengals led 1-0 at the break.

It didn't take long for the Bengals to score in the second stanza, as a strong individual effort by Brandon Galanti resulted in a goal.

Senior Ben Garcia threaded a pass between two defenders in the 67th minute to Francesco Viavattene who sent a shot wide of the net.

The visitors added their final goal in the 74th minute to close the scoring at 3-0.

Wilkin made a career-high nine saves in the loss.

Nazareth returns to action on Friday when it hosts D'Youville College at 5 p.m.
