BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. -- The first two rounds of the Empire 8 Conference Tournamnent for men's golf are in the books and Nazareth stands in fifth place after competing at Timber Banks Golf Club.
Nazareth improved by 32 strokes from Saturday's first round to Sunday's second as the Golden Flyers finished with a team score of 674. St. John Fisher is first with 608, followed by Stevens (637), Morvian (650), Scranton (665), Nazareth (674), Utica (696), Susquehanna (697) and Elmira (723). Rounds three and four will be contested in the spring at Hershey Country Club in Pennsylvania.
Senior
Kyle Bromley paced Nazareth with rounds of 82 and 80 for a total score of 162, good for a tie for ninth place individually. Freshman
Ian Brotherton was next in 20th place with scores of 91 and 78 for a 169 total. Senior
Jonathan Gerken is tied for 22nd place with scores of 89 and 82 for a 171 total.
Other competitors for Nazareth were freshman
Jordan Holley in 24th place (91-81--172), sophomore
Dominic Cicchetti in 32nd place (91-84--175) and senior
C.J. Murray in 38th place (94-87--181).
