ROCHESTER, NY – Visiting Washington & Jefferson remained undefeated on the year after dropping Nazareth 4-1 in its Empire 8 home-opener Saturday afternoon.

Nazareth drops to 4-1 with the loss, while Washington and Jefferson improves to 5-0.

The Presidents scored two goals in each half, with the first goal coming 5:27 in on an unassisted goal from Rachel Fromm.

The score would remain that way until the 17th minute when Rachel Buyan re-directed a shot into the net.

Early in the second half, the Presidents increased their lead to 3-0 on a goal from Judy Yurkofsky.

Nazareth answered less than a minute after that goal as Jennifer Hilts put in her third goal of the season.

The final goal of the game was scored at the 60:59 mark.

Kimber Nourse made 17 saves between the pipes for Nazareth.

Nazareth hosts East Avenue rival St. John Fisher at 6 p.m. on Tuesday night.
