BRADFORD, Pa. -- Nazareth dominated host Pitt.-Bradford from start to finish in a non-conference men's soccer game Sunday as the Golden Flyers recorded their third win of the season with a 3-0 triumph over the Panthers.
The Golden Flyers also defeated D'Youville at home Friday and now stand at 3-1 overall after going winless in 2015. Pitt.-Bradford is 0-3. The game was the first-ever meeting between the two schools in men's soccer. The Golden Flyers are home again Wednesday to host Fredonia at 7 p.m.
Dylan Toscano scored two goals for Nazareth and
Ben Garcia also scored as the Golden Flyers took advantage of a 26-3 shooting advantage.
Alessio DeMichele, who scored twice against D'Youville, added a pair of assists.
Toscano's first goal came in the game's 40th minute as DeMichele delivered a corner kick that Toscano redirected with his head into the right corner of the goal. That enabled Nazareth to lead 1-0 at halftime.
Toscano scored again in the 55th minute, this time off a corner kick by
Christopher Rowland. Toscano one-timed Rowland's kick to give Nazareth a 2-0 advantage. Garcia netted the third goal of the game less than seven minutes later after DeMichele set up the play with a pass into the penalty area.
Freshman
Brian Wilkin and senior
Nate Ripic combined for the shutout in goal. Wilkin was called upon to make just one save, while Ripic had none over the final 11 minutes.
