Field Hockey Nipped By Brockport, 3-2

Box Score l Updated Stats

BROCKPORT, NY – A second half rally came up just short for the Nazareth field hockey team Tuesday night as they fell 3-2 to the College at Brockport.  The Golden Eagles scored the first three goals of the game, before Nazareth rallied for two goals in the second half.

Nazareth falls to 3-14 on the season with the loss, while Brockport improves to 4-11.

The Golden Eagles struck just 3:30 into the contest as Margo Tremaine scored her sixth goal of the season.

At the midway point, Tremaine was on the other end of a Golden Eagles goal, as she took advantage of two-on-one opportunity with Christina Conkling to make it 2-0.

The score would remain 2-0 at the break.

Brockport's lead increased to 3-0 at the 43:52 mark on a scrum in front of the net cashed in by Emilee Boddery.

Nazareth would answer just :26 seconds later, as Kristina Back fired home a pass from Leah Good for the goal.  It is the third straight game that Back has found the net.

Nazareth's offense kept pushing, with Back feeding Jennifer Hilts for a shot into the bottom left corner of the net with under 15 minutes to play.  Back now has eight points in the last four games.  Hilts, the team's leading scorer, pushed her season total to eight goals, to go along with her four assists.

Brockport finished the game with a 16-10 advantage in shots.

Kimber Nourse made six saves in net for Nazareth.

Nazareth returns to action next Wednesday when it travels to Morrisville for a 5 p.m. contest.
