ROCHESTER, NY – Visiting Stevens scored the lone goal of the contest in the 74
th minute to upend Nazareth 1-0 Saturday afternoon at Golden Flyer Stadium. In the game, Stevens had the better of play, generating 20 shots to the Golden Flyers five.
Nazareth drops to 4-8-1 overall and 0-4-1 in Empire 8 play, while Stevens moves to 8-4-1 overall and 4-1, respectively.
The Ducks controlled the opening half as Nazareth was on the defensive from the get-go. Stevens held an 11-1 advantage in shots.
Nazareth's only shot of the half came in the final :10 seconds off a free kick. Alessio DeMichle served a cross in that
Casimer Lopata-Linn headed just wide of the far post.
In the second half, Nazareth had two quality chances from distance in the first 15 minutes that the goalkeeper juggled before making the save.
Kieran McCoy had one opportunity and
Dereck France had the other.
Stevens broke the scoreless tie at the 73:06 mark as Haddy Abdelhady took a cross from Daniel Aversano and put it into the side netting.

Nazareth returns to the pitch next Saturday when it travels to Elmira for a 3 p.m. contest.
