Updated StatsROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Nazareth College men's soccer team traveled to SUNY Geneseo for a late-night non-conference matchup, falling 5-1 to the Knights.
With the loss, Nazareth falls to 0-10 on the year, while Geneseo moves 5-2-3 on the year.
Geneseo scored the first four goals of the game, with just one tally coming in the first half. Matt D'Amico got things going for the Knights in the 36
th minute to make it 1-0.
Geneseo was able to break open the contest with back-to-back tallies in less than a two minute span. Kevin McGrath scored at the 51:03 mark and Stanley Egbuchulam found the back of the net just 1:58 later.
McGrath notched his second goal of the day in the 65
th minute for the Knights.
Nazareth eventually broke through in the 80
th minute with
AJ Muoio scoring his first collegiate goal.
Geneseo added on more goal late in the game to round out the scoring.
Nate Ripic was between the pipes, making 11 saves in net.
Nazareth returns to action on Saturday at 1 p.m. when it will host Alfred University for an Empire 8 contest.
