Men's Soccer Falls to Fredonia, 3-0

FREDONIA, N.Y. – The Nazareth College men's soccer team surrendered three first half goals en route to falling 3-0 to host Fredonia on Wednesday night.

With the loss, Nazareth falls to 0-6 on the season and Fredonia moves to 1-5. 

Fredonia jumped out to an early 2-0 lead less than five minutes into the contest.  The Blue Devils needed just 1:54 to get on the board.  Following a shot off the crossbar, James Ritchie put in the rebound with a header.

Just 1:22 later Fredonia scored its second goal of the game on a cross into the box and a one-time finish from Bryan Sibble.

In the 12th minute the Blue Devils benefited from a foul in the box, resulting in a penalty kick.  James Ritchie, who assisted on the second goal, notched his second goal of the game.

Fredonia finished the game with 25 shots compared to five for the Golden Flyers.

Alex McLean played 90 minutes in net for Nazareth, making six saves.

Nazareth returns to action against at 1 p.m. on Saturday when it will host Houghton.
