Daniel Strack finished in a tie for 16th to lead Nazareth's men's golf team at the Empire 8 Championships hosted by Moravian College at the Hershey Country Club. Nazareth finished with a team score of 1,363 to place seventh overall. St. John Fisher finished first with a score of 1,217 to claim the men's title. Moravian was second with a score of 1,267, and Scranton took third with 1,269.
Strack had an 81 on Saturday and a 78 on Sunday to lead the Golden Flyers. Strack's four-round total was 328 strokes. Junior
Caleb McGuire was 20th with a score of 84 on Saturday and 82 on Sunday. He had a four-round total of 335. Junior
Sean de Herder finished in a tie for 29th, and senior
Andrew Lund was 33rd. De Herder tallied scores of 87 on Saturday and Sunday for a four-round total of 352. Lund had a 96 on Saturday and a 90 on Sunday for a total score of 367.
Sophomore
Jonathan Gerken and freshman Oliver Janzen also represented Nazareth. Gerken had an 80 on Saturday and a 94 on Sunday. Janzen recorded a score of 87 on Saturday and 94 on Sunday.
The Golden Flyers are in action again next Saturday and Sunday for the Nazareth Invitational at Mendon Golf Club.
