Women's Results LETCHWORTH, N.Y. - Nazareth closed out its men's and women's cross country seasons Saturday as both teams competed in the NCAA Atlantic Regional meet at Letchworth State Park. The women improved one spot from a year ago, coming in 15
th place, while the men took a huge step forward going from 51
st place in 2014 to 27
th place in 2015.
On the women's side, Geneseo was the overall champion with 75 points in the 37-team field. The Golden Flyers finished the day with 394 points.
Senior
Gabrielle LeBihan raced to a 31
st place finish after clocking a 22:57.7 over the 6-kilometer course.
Kimmy Lovett (61
st place) and
Robin Wagner (64
th place) were separated by less than two seconds with times of 23:36.8 and 23:38.5, respectively.
Emily Thompson was the fourth finisher for Nazareth, racing to a time of 24:25.5 for 113
th place.
Jamie DiSalvo rounded out the scoring after finishing in 24:40.6 for 125
th place.
For the men, Geneseo was also victorious, collecting 54 points in the 41-team. Nazareth compiled 878 points in the race.
Kevin Witt was the top-finisher for Nazareth, running the 8-kilometer course in 27:45.7, good for 133
rd place.
Junior Matt Battaglia was next in line in 162
nd place (28:23.0), while Patrick Neureuter was close behind in 180
th place (28:39.4).
The final scorers for the Golden Flyers were Jack Wessell in 193
rd place and Jacob Murray in the 210
th spot. Wessel complete the race in 29:02.0, while Murray crossed the line at the 29:52.2 mark.
