Updated StatsROCHESTER, N.Y – The Nazareth College women's volleyball squared off against The College at Brockport Wednesday night, falling in straight sets 25-22, 25-27, 25-19 to the now 17-1 Golden Eagles.
Nazareth moves to 13-10 on the year.
Brockport jumped out to an 8-3 advantage in the opening set. Nazareth was able to even the score at 11 following three attacking errors from the visitors. Following back and forth action which brought the score to 18-18, Brockport closed out the set on a 7-4 run for a 25-22 win.
In the second set, Nazareth outlasted the Golden Eagles on a long rally, capped with a
Kelsey Milligan kill to take a 24-23 advantage. The Golden Flyers could not close out the set, however, as a service error tied the score at 24. Following each team trading a point, Kayla Barber recorded back-to-back kills to push the visitors to a 27-25 win.
For the final set Brockport was able to come through late, breaking an 18-18 tie by winning seven of the next eight points to close out the contest.
Cady Messmer paced the attack with eight kills, while also registering 11 digs.

Carmen Sapp each chipped in five kills.
Maureen Thayer added 29 assists.
Nazareth returns to action on Saturday when it will host an Empire 8 tri-match. The Golden Flyers square off against Stevens at 11 a.m. and Ithaca at 4 p.m.
