ROCHESTER, N.Y – The Nazareth College men's soccer team hosted Hobart College in non-conference action on Tuesday, falling victim to the Statsesmen by a 4-0 margin.
Hobart was able to establish possession from the start and outshot the Golden Flyers 10-1 in the first half.

The Statesmen broke through in the 19th minute as Tyler Teren's cross came off a Nazareth defender and into the lap of Zach Poretz for a tap-in goal.

Although only managing just the one shot in the half, Nazareth generated a quality opportunity. Christian Barrientos played a low shot outside of the box, forcing the Hobart goaltender to make a save.

Hobart scored three goals in the second half in less than a 15 minute span, starting in the 59th minute off a corner kick.  Mitch Palmer made it 3-0 in the 68th minute and Mouhamed Diouf closed out the scoring in the 72nd minute.

Nazareth, however, continued to push for a goal late into the contest.  Barrientos played a ball back to Ben Rodney in the 80th minute as his shot was blocked by a defender.  Shortly after, Nick DiPaulo flicked a left footed shot wide of the net.

Alex McLean played 66:48 in net, surrendering two goals and registering three saves.  Nate Ripic played 23:12, giving up two goals, while making one save.

Nazareth returns to action on Saturday when it will host Elmira College for a 3 p.m. contest.
