Updated StatsSARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Nazareth College field hockey squad saw a three-game winning streak come to a halt Saturday, as the Golden Flyers fell 6-0 to ninth ranked Skidmore College.
Nazareth finishes the year 9-10 overall, while Skidmore improves to 13-5.
The Thoroughbreds came out blazing, scoring three goals in the first six minutes of play, including two tallies in the first two minutes of action.
Krista Lamoreaux scored the first and third goals for Skidmore, while Dani DeGregory scored in between.
The score remained 3-0 at the half.
DeGregory scored her second goal of the game early into the second half to make it 4-0.
The Thoroughbreds kept pressing but
Lauren Devine came up big at the 50:56 mark, saving a penalty stroke to keep the score at 4-0 in favor of Skidmore.
The high-powered Skidmore offense got on the board twice more in the contest in the 58
th and 65
th minute.
Skidmore won the shot battle 26-7.
Catherine Willard had three shots for Nazareth.
Devine made 13 saves for the Golden Flyers.
