Box | Updated Stats
ROCHESTER, NY – Catherine Willard scored four second-half goals in a span of 16 minutes to break the Nazareth College single-season scoring record with 18 goals and led the team to an 8-0 shutout win over Keuka College. With the win Nazareth evens its record 9-9 while Keuka falls to 2-13.

Kristina Back opened up the scoring for the Golden Flyers at 17:04 with an unassisted goal after grabbing her own rebound off the goalpost. Maggie Muzio scored her first of two goals off a penalty corner at 24:54 to put the Golden Flyers up 2-0. She was assisted by Kelsi Barnholt. Cathy Stahl scored her first goal of the season off a Willard assist to give the Golden Flyers the 3-0 lead at half-time.

Willard came out strong in the second half scoring four goals and tying her own school record for goals in a game (Cheryl Hoda Hoosock '00 also scored four goals against Kenyon College in 1999). With 78 career points on 35 goals and eight assists, Willard ranks third on Nazareth's all-time scoring list in just two seasons.
Willard's first goal was a direct shot from the top of the circle on a penalty corner at 47:23. She was assisted by Kailee Coleman. Willard scored an unassisted goal just: 28 seconds later after dodging the Keuka goalkeeper to give Nazareth a 6-0 lead.

Senior Maggie Muzio scored her second goal of the season on a penalty stroke at 57:33 after a defender inadvertently kicked the ball preventing it from being fairly played.

Willard finished her scoring spree with two unassisted goals at 63:11 and again just: 44 seconds later off a rebound from the goalies pads. Willard's 18 goal performance thus far this season breaks her own single season scoring record of 17 goals also previously held by Kelly Flanagan (2007).

Nazareth out-shot the Wolfpack 40-6 in the game and had a 17-3 advantage in penalty corners. Lauren Devine played the first 35 minutes in goal making two saves for the Golden Flyers while Kimber Nourse played the second half and was not challenged.

Elizabeth Sherman had 16 saves in the loss for Keuka

The Golden Flyers, winners of three straight and five of their last six, finish their season Saturday, October 31 at Skidmore for a 2 pm game.
