ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Visiting Ithaca scored just one minute into the game Saturday and the Bombers went on to defeat Nazareth in an Empire 8 Conference men's soccer match, 3-0, at Golden Flyer Stadium.

Ithaca remains in first place in the conference standings with a 4-1 conference mark and a 4-7-1 record overall. Nazareth dropped to 0-13-1 overall and 0-4-1 in the E8.

Before the game, Nazareth honored its departing seniors -- Ben Garcia, Brendan Miles and Matt Schiano -- were competing in their last home game. The game itself was stopped for more than 30 minutes in the first half while trainers tended to Nazareth goalkeeper Alex McLean, who suffered a neck injury after a collision with Ithaca's Brandon Thompson. He was treated at a local hospital for a concussion and a bruised neck and released.

Thompson scored Ithaca's first goal exactly one minute into the game off an assist from Sean Forward to put the Bombers in control early. Ellis Masterman scored in the 35th minute to make the score 2-0 before halftime. Jordan Filipowich scored Ithaca's third goal in the second half. Joseph Dobbins had assists on the second and third goals.

Junior Nate Ripic relieved McLean in the 12th minute and yielded the last two goals while making eight saves. Ithaca's Zach Jacobsen played all 90 minutes in goal for Ithaca and was credited with one save and the shutout win.

Ithaca had a 32-8 shot advantage and a 4-3 edge in corner kicks. Junior Lucas Bennett accounted for Nazareth's lone shot on goal.

Nazareth has a pair of conference road games remaining -- Oct. 24 at St. John Fisher at 2 p.m. and Oct. 31 at Stevens at 11 a.m.
