Women's TeamPITTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Nazareth College cross country teams traveled out of New York state Saturday to take part in the Carnegie Mellon Invitational. The women's team raced to an eighth place finish, while the men came in 12
th place.
For the women,
Gabrielle LeBihan was the frontrunner, finishing the 5-kilometer course in 19:28.5 for a 22
nd place finish.
Kimmy Lovett had a strong race a well coming in 41
st place in a time of 19:57.2.
Robin Wagner came through in a time of 20:24.9 (50
th place), while
Jamie DiSalvo crossed in 20:34.6 (56
th place). Nazareth's final scorer was
Eileen Shea who finished in 21:20.6 for 72
nd place. Also competing for Nazareth were
Claire Ludington (21:26 .0 – 74
th place) and
Blair Meeson (21:49.0 – 85
th place).
On the men's side, Kevin Witt led the way finishing the 8-kilometer course in 27:43.8 for a 5:33 mile pace and a 42
nd place finish. Senior Patrick Neureuter was next in line for the Golden Flyers at 28:45.9 (69
th place). Matt Battaglia finished in 29:00.3 to earn 72
nd place, while Jack Wessel was the fourth scoring runner at 29:21.0 (78
th place). Tom Lannon rounded out the scoring with a time of 30:23.0 for 95
th place. Kris Newell and Jacob Murray finished in 31:46.7 and 31:50.0 for 103
rd and 104
th place, respectively.
Nazareth will have a week off before taking part in the NYSCTC meet at Hamilton College on October 24
th.
