ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Several members of the men's and women's cross country teams were in action Saturday at the Harry Anderson Invitational, hosted by Roberts Wesleyan. Freshman Kevin Witt was Nazareth's top finisher in the men's 8-kilometer race as he placed 42nd overall with a time of 27:32. In the women's 5-kilometer race, junior Robin Wagner was the Golden Flyers' top finisher in 52nd-place and a time of 20:09.

Nazareth's men's team was 17th overall with a combined score of 504 points. Cortland took first with a total score of 40 points, followed by Cornell with 42 points, and Roberts Wesleyan with 71 points.

Sophomore Matt Battaglia was the second Golden Flyer to finish the men's race as he took 105th-place with a time of 29:21. Junior Patrick Neureuter was 133rd with a time of 29:58, and sophomore Ethan Osborne was 157th with a time of 31:05. Classmate Thomas Lannon finished moments after Osborne with a time of 31:11, which placed him 161st. Freshman Kris Newell rounded out the Nazareth racers in 191st place with a time of 32:43.

In the women's race, three Golden Flyers raced while several runners rested. Following Wagner, freshman Andrea Larnard was 149th with a time of 21:35, and senior Kassandra Lathrop placed 216th with a time of 23:21.

Cornell claimed the women's title with a total team score of only 32 points. Roberts Wesleyan was second with 52 points, and Laurentian was third with 57 points. With at least five racers needed for a team score, Nazareth's women's team did not have an overall score for Saturday's meet.

Nazareth is in action again October 4th when the Golden Flyers travel to the Geneseo Invitational.
