Women's resultsROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Nazareth's men's and women's cross country teams were back in action Saturday at the Yellowjacket Invitational at Genesee Valley Park. The women's team finished 10th in the 22-team field with 257 points. Oneonta won the 6-kilometer event with 69 points. Brockport's Rachel Malone was the individual winner with a time of 22:34.9.
Nazareth was paced by junior
Gabrielle LeBihan, who placed ninth in 23:32.1. Sophomore
Emily Thompson was next in 30th place (24:10.1), followed by freshman
Kimmy Lovett in 67th place (25:19.6), sophomore
Jamie DiSalvo in 74th place (25:32.6) and junior
Blair Meeson in 77th place (25:41.6). Other competitors were senior
Michaela Gildemeyer in 87th place (26:08.4) and freshman
Andrea Larnard in 103rd place (27:07.7).
In the men's race, Nazareth finished in 18th place among 24 teams by totaling 551 points. Oneonta finished first with 55 points.
Freshman Kevin Witt was Nazareth's top individual with a 76th-place finish, covering the 8-kilometer course in 28:38.6. Sophomore Matt Battaglia was nexy in 107th place (30:17.4). Other runners were Partrick Neureuter in 116th place (30:41.9); Jacob Murray in 124th place (31:31.6); Tom Lannon in 128th place (31:51.4); Kris Newell in 132nd place (32:13.5) and Ethan Osborne in 141st place (33:08.2). Rensselaer's Jacob Andrews won the race in 26:13.7.
