James Sergeant had Nazareth's top individual scores Sunday as the Golden Flyers hosted the Nazareth Spring Invitational at Mendon Golf Club. Nazareth finished third in the five-team event with a two-day score of 657 following rounds of 331 and 326. Roberts Wesleyan, paced by co-medalists Shane Dobesh and Troy Allen, won the team title with scores of 304 and 300 for a 604 total. Monroe Community College was next with scores of 321 and 316 for a 637 total. Utica (333-342 -- 375) and Ottawa (346-329 -- 375) also competed.
Sergeant was in the hunt for medalist honors with scores of 79 and 76 for an 11-over-par total of 155. He finished in sixth place, just four shots behind Dobesh and Allen. Senior
Ben Waldman finished in 11th place with back-to-back scores of 81 for a 162 total. Junior Dan Strack (85-85--170) and senior
Nick Polito (86-84--170) finished in a tie for 16th place.
