Women's resultsROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Nazareth closed out its men's and women's cross country seasons Saturday as both teams competed in the NCAA Atlantic Regional meet at Genesee Valley Park.
The Nazareth women's team finished in 16th place in the 40-team field with 460 points. Junior
Gabrielle LeBihan was the Golden Flyers' top finisher in 51st place. She covered the 6,000-meter course in 23:05.7. Nazareth finished in 31st place in the men's race and was led by freshman Kevin Witt, who placed 102nd in 27:06.5 for 8,000 meters.
St. Lawrence, with four finishers in the top 10, won the women's title with 50 points, one point fewer than runner-up Geneseo. Junior Amy Regan of Stevens was the individual winner with a time of 21:05.8.
For Nazareth, following LeBihan to the finish line were junior
Robin Wagner in 88th place (23:43.8); sophomore
Emily Thompson in 91st place (23:47.5); senior
Michaela Gildemeyer in 114th place (24:15.5) and sophomore
Jamie DiSalvo in 116th place (24:16.0). Freshmen
Kimmy Lovett (24:30.3) and
Andrea Larnard (25:40.9) also competed.
In the men's race, St. Lawrence also won the team title with 63 points. RIT's Matt Giannino was the individual champion with a winning time of 25:08.7.
Other finishers for Nazareth were sophomore Jacob Murray in 172nd place (28:24.6); junior Patrick Neureuter in 191st place (28:54.6); sophomore Matt Battaglia in 202nd place (29:11.7) and sophomore Ethan Osborne in 228th place (29:53.6). Other competitors were sophomore Tommy Lannon (31:01.6) and freshman Kris Newell (31:05.4).
