Box | Updated StatsROCHESTER, NY - Ninth ranked Skidmore blanked Nazareth 5-0 in a non-conference field hockey game Sunday afternoon to end a two-game losing streak. The Thoroughbreds improved to 8-3 overall while Nazareth falls to 6-8.
Skidmore ranked #9 in last week's NFHCA Coaches poll had five different goal scorers in today's contest. Becca Halter scored the first goal of the game and her first of the season at 6:30 off a penalty corner opportunity. Teammate Melanie Webb scored just four minutes later at 10:10 off an assist from Seeley Fancher to give the Thoroughbreds a 2-0 halftime lead.
The Golden Flyers held Skidmore scoreless for 44 straight minutes from mid-way through the first half until 54:31 when Krista Lamoreaux found the back of the goal after collecting a rebound off of the goalkeeper's pads. Sam Skott scored off a Sofia SanMarco assist at 59:59 and Jenn Hanks rounded out the scoring off a Becca Halter assist on a penalty corner at 67:26.

Shannon Winney made 13 saves and allowed four goals in 63 minutes of play while
Lauren Devine finished the final seven minutes of the game and allowed one goal. Skidmore's Amy Beck made two saves in the shutout win.
The Thoroughbreds had a commanding 25-2 advantage in shots and a 16-3 advantage in penalty corners.
Nazareth is home again on Wednesday, October 8 hosting Geneseo in a non-conference game at 4 pm.
