Box Score Box | ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Host Rochester scored the first six goals of the game to build a commanding advantage Wednesday as the Yellowjackets spoiled Nazareth's season opener in field hockey with a 7-2 victory over the Golden Flyers at Fauver Stadium.
The Yellowjackets, ranked 18th nationally in the latest National Field Hockey Coaches Association poll, remained unbeaten at 3-0. Nazareth, 0-1, is home Saturday to host Oswego in a non-conference game at 1 p.m.

Jordan Ritchie and sophomore
Magill Woodruff scored second-half goals for the Golden Flyers, who had 10 of their 16 shots in the final 35 minutes.
Nicole Cerza and Lindsay Randall each scored two goals for Rochester and Michelle Relin contributed one goal and two assists. UR controlled the action early by scoring five times in the first half. Belle Hoagland scored in the 15th minute and goals by Maura O'Conor, Relin, Cerza and Randall followed.
Randall scored again in the first five minutes of the second half to extend the score to 6-0. Ritchie put the Golden Flyers on the scoreboard just 45 seconds later as she tallied off an assist from
Sarah Wazenkewitz. Woodruff's goal came in the 58th minute and was the first of her career. Cerza scored UR's final goal with less than two minutes left.
UR had a 29-16 edge in shots and an 11-10 advantage in penalty corners. Junior
Shannon Winney was in goal for UR's first six goals and made 12 saves. Freshman
Mary Greco played the final 30 minutes and made one save.
