Flyers show improvement at LeMoyne

BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. -- With across-the-board improvement Monday, Nazareth's men's golf team inched up to 16th place in the team standings following the second day of competition at LeMoyne's Mike Bello Invitational at Timber Banks Golf Course.

Nazareth posted a Monday team score of 334 for a two-day total of 681, one stroke better than Felician. Bentley won the tournament with a total score of 586, three shots better than Concordia (589).

Sophomore Dan Strack was the Golden Flyers' top individual scorer after firing a 6-over-par 78. His two-day total of 161 put him in a tie for 45th place. Junior Nick Polito and senior Jay Stith each improved by two strokes from Sunday to Monday with scores of 84 and 86 respectively. Polito had a 170 total, Stith 174.

Other Nazareth competitors were freshmen Tom Mediak (90-86 -- 176) and Sean Delterder (93-87 -- 180).
