Kristina Back and junior
Sibongile Chisi each scored two gtoals for visiting Nazareth Sunday as the Golden Flyers dominated Wells in non-conference field hockey action with a 5-0 victory.
The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Golden Flyers, who improved to 4-6 overall. Wells dropped to 3-9.
Chisi scored both of her goals in the first half and Back added another as the Golden Flyers went up 3-0. Chisi's first goal came at 6:39 and was assisted by senior
Jordan Ritchie, whose pass resulted in a breakaway for Chisi. The second goal came 14 minutes later and was unassisted. Back's first goal also was unassisted at 31:17.
In the second half, senior
Haley Potter scored her first goal of the season off a pass from sophomore
Cathy Stahl. Just over a minute later, Back scored her second goal of the game and fifth of the season off an assist from sophomore
Maggie Muzio.
Nazareth also dominated statistically with 28 shots and nine penalty corners. Freshmen
Mary Greco and
Lauren Devine each played 35 minutes in goal with Greco making only one save.Â
Nazareth is home Wednesday for a non-conference game against Houghton at 6 p.m.
