St. Lawrence defeats Nazareth, 4-2

ROCHESTER, NY - St. Lawrence scored the first two goals in each half to defeat Nazareth 4-2. The Saints improved to 5-8 while Nazareth falls to 4-9. 

The Saints first goal was scored by Samantha Haab just 14:00 into the contest.  Erica French scored the second goal of the game and was assisted by Kate Higgins at 27:23 during a penalty corner opportunity. 

The Golden Flyers got on the board with no time remaining in the first half when they were awarded a penalty corner as time expired.  Sarah Wazenkewitz scored on a direct shot from the top of the circle.  She was assisted by Maggie Muzio and Kailee Coleman. 

The Saints scored the first two goals of the second half as well to extend their lead to 4-1.  Ali Ferenczy scored an unassisted goal at 41:21 and seven minutes later Kara Pelosi scored a goal between the legs and was assisted by Grace O'Neil. 

The Golden Flyers pulled back within two goals when Grace Crowell scored her first goal of the season off an assist from Muzio. 

St. Lawrence out-shot Nazareth 15-5 and had a 8-4 advantage on penalty corners.  Nicole Matos was credited with two saves in goal for the Saints and Mary Greco had seven saves for the Golden Flyers.

The Golden Flyers play their final home game of the season on Sunday, October 20 at 12 pm again Stevens Institute of Technology.
