Nazareth, Oneonta tie 0-0

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Host Nazareth and Oneonta played to a 0-0 tie in the Nazareth Women's Soccer Invitational Saturday at the Golden Flyer Stadium.

The Golden Flyers opened up their season this weekend with two overtime ties leaving their record at 0-0-2. Oneonta is 0-1-1.

The play was even throughout the first and second halves with a total of 11 shots for Oneonta and 10 for Nazareth. The Golden Flyers had three more shots in the second overtime, including a chance by Kristina McCann, who chipped a shot from about 20 yards out that was cleared over the goal by an Oneonta defender. Oneonta had a 9-2 edge in corner kicks.

The Oneonta goalkeeper Rori Stark recorded three saves and Nazareth keeper Abbie Carey had four. Carey helped keep the game scoreless by making a big save on a shot by Oneonta's Lindsey Doxtader in the 69th minute.

Nazareth looks to improve thier record next Wednesday September 5th when they travel to Medaille College for a non-conference game.
