ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Visiting Golden Flyers fell to Stevens 3-1 in an Empire 8 match up Saturday in women's soccer. The loss leaves Nazareth at 4-2-3 overall and 0-1-1 in the conference. Stevens will improve to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
The first half of play was competitive with Nazareth leading 1-0 with a goal from senior
Amanda Sudore, which was the first of her season. The goal came off a corner kick taken by sophomore
Tyler Carr that found the head of senior
Sarah Eichelberger, who flicked the ball on to Sudore's head where she found the inside of the far post. The Golden Flyers continued to play tough through the first half to hold off the Ducks, until Brittany Odgers was able to catch Nazareth's defense off guard with a cross that found the feet of Jessie Wos, who capitalized on the opportunity leaving the score 1-1 at half.
Action in the second half continued to be a physical battle between the Golden Flyers and the Ducks. Nazareth was able to hold Stevens off while still earning scoring opportunities from senior
Christine Belding and Eichelberger, was quoted as “the catalyst” by the Empire8.tv web announcer for the hard play demonstrated by the Golden Flyers. It was not until about the last 15 minutes of play the Ducks were able to finally break through and score two quick goals by Ann Heine and Lindsay Stoll on the Golden Flyers, ending the game at 3-1.

Abbie Carey was busy on her line, making a total of nine saves for the Golden Flyers.
Nazareth looks to earn their first conference win against Houghton at home Wednesday, Sept. 26th at 4 pm at the Golden Flyer Stadium.
